About Us

What We Believe: Statement of Faith

The connection between belief and behavior means that actions should reflect one's faith on and off-site. As a Christian Camp of the Restoration Movement, we value the Bible and its implications for personal conduct. A Statement of Faith & Practice can be issued by contacting our office.

Where It Started: The Allen's Dream

Allendale began as the dream of Roy and Marie Allen, who longed for a Christian camp for children in Central Indiana. After Roy’s passing, Marie continued pursuing their vision and, in 1949, partnered with local ministers to make it a reality—donating 17 acres of her own land.

The first camps launched in 1951 with a small lake, a simple dining hall, and campers sleeping in tents. Over the decades, Allendale has grown from those humble beginnings to nearly 200 acres with 35 buildings, two lakes, a thriving summer camp, and a year-round retreat ministry.

What started as the Allens’ dream has become a place where generations of young people encounter Christ and find lasting community.

Where We are Going: Mission

At Camp Allendale, our longstanding mission is to share the message of Christ with others. Nestled on nearly 200 acres, we take joy in welcoming over 2,800 campers each summer to experience our exceptional facilities. With remarkable buildings, expansive activities, and our year-round facility, we are thrilled to offer an environment where individuals can connect with the living God year-round. During our retreat season, which draws over 6,000 guests, we are proud to serve as the preferred camp for numerous churches, organizations, and individuals.
